Fr. Ron Labarre   (a native of Biddeford) is pastor of St. Joseph's. Father Labarre graduated from St. Louis High School in 1952. He attended St. Francis College (now U.N.E.). He also pursued studies at "Le Grand Seminaire de Montreal". In 1960 he was ordained a priest for the diocese of Portland. Father Labarre served in parishes in Brewer, Lewiston, Millinocket, Caribou, and Auburn.

From 1970 to 1978 Father Labarre was director of the Office of Religious Education and was Diocesan Director of the Catholic Youth Organization. Father Labarre also studied at the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. and Seattle University in Washington where he finished studies in a Masters program in Religious Education

Besides parish work, Father also had a variety of Diocesan, Provincial, and National responsibilities, including:

• Director of New England Youth Activities
• Board member of the New England Conference of Diocesan Directors of Religious Education.
• Member on the Diocesan Council of Priests
• Chairman of the Education Cornmittee of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission
• Team Member for "Beginnings and Beyond" for the National Forum on the Catechumenate.

In July of 1993, Father Labarre was named pastor of St. Joseph in Biddeford ME. With all of his responsibilities, he still enjoys singing with the Tri-City Community Chorus.
